What E.ON Business Energy Tariffs are available?

E.ON Next offers a range of business energy tariffs designed for small businesses, SMEs and larger organisations. Available options include fixed-rate contracts, flexible purchasing arrangements and bespoke solutions for larger energy users. The right tariff will depend on your business's energy requirements, budget and attitude to market risk.

Fixed Rate Business Energy Tariffs

E.ON Next fixed business tariffs lock in your unit rates and standing charges for the length of your agreement, helping to protect your business from wholesale market volatility and making budgeting more predictable. With contract terms typically available from one to three years, selected tariffs also include 100% renewable electricity, giving businesses greater price certainty while supporting their sustainability goals.

Flexible and Multi-Purchase Contracts

For larger businesses with more complex energy requirements, E.ON offers flexible purchasing contracts designed to give greater control over your energy procurement strategy. Rather than fixing your tariff at the outset, a flex contract allows you to purchase energy in smaller tranches or clips over time, enabling you to respond to wholesale market movements, spread purchasing risk and pursue a tailored trading strategy.

This approach can help businesses take advantage of favourable market conditions while avoiding the risk of buying their entire energy requirement at a single point in time. Flex contracts are particularly well suited to organisations with higher energy consumption, multiple sites or those that actively manage their energy budgets.

E.ON flex contracts are provided through npower Business Solutions, E.ON’s dedicated Industrial & Commercial energy business. Alongside flex, npower also provides E.ON customers the opportunity to purchase pass through contracts which can often confer similar benefits to flex but come with less risk.

Variable Business Energy Rates

If your fixed business energy contract comes to an end and you don’t agree a new contract or move supplier, it's likely you will move onto E.ON’s variable tariff. Variable tariffs are typically around 40% higher and your unit rates and standing charges are often no longer fixed and can change over time in line with market conditions.

For businesses that have moved into premises without agreeing a contract with E.ON, a deemed tariff may apply. Again deemed rates are generally higher than contracted prices and are intended as a temporary arrangement until a formal agreement is put in place.

Whilst variable tariffs offer flexibility and don’t tie you into a fixed term contract, they rarely represent the most cost effective option over the long term. Businesses on variable or deemed rates should regularly review their options and consider moving onto a fixed contract to benefit from greater price certainty and potentially lower energy costs.
