Who are you and what’s your role at Clear Utility Solutions?
I’m Laura-Jane Draper, Head of Operations and Flex Management at Clear Utility Solutions. I focus on improving internal processes, supporting the team, and helping to deliver a seamless, high-quality experience for our customers.
Tell us a bit about your background and what brought you to CUS?
I’ve worked in the energy industry for over a decade across sales, sales operations, and flexible energy portfolio management. I was drawn to CUS because of its genuine commitment to delivering excellent service to customers, the strong team culture, and the sense of belonging — it really feels like being part of a close-knit family with shared values and a clear mission.
What’s something you’ve learned already in your time here?
I’ve been really impressed by how closely the team works together. There’s a shared drive to do things well, a culture of collaboration, and a clear passion for delivering the best possible experience for our customers.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
I enjoy solving problems, improving processes, and making the customer journey as smooth and efficient as possible. It’s rewarding to know that the work I do behind the scenes helps create a better experience for our customers.
What’s something people might not expect about you?
I have a qualification in psychology and a special interest in the human brain — I’m fascinated by how people think and behave. I’ve also sold my own artwork, which might surprise some people!
When you’re not at work, what keeps you busy?
Spending time with my son, walking, doing Pilates, and listening to podcasts. I especially enjoy anything related to mindset, psychology, or true crime — I’m always curious to learn more.
